Makes 20 scones approx
Preheat oven to 200c
- Sift all dry ingredients together in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and rub in the Avonmore Butter until there are no big bits left.
- Add the sultanas. Beat eggs with the milk, add all at once to the dry ingredients and mix to a soft dough.
- Turn out onto a floured board, knead lightly just to shape into a 1-inch thick round shape. With a cutter make into scones. You can cut mini or big ones. Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle some sugar over them.
Bake in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes. Keep an eye on them as all ovens vary. Cool slightly on a wire rack, serve hot or warm.
Delicious with home made jam or marmalade and a dollop of Avonmore Freshly Whipped Cream!
