Granary Brownie

A delicious Chocolate Brownie served with Avonmore Freshly Whipped Cream – Recipe created by the Granary Foodstore, Midleton, Co.Cork


    For the brownie

    • 680g Avonmore Butter
    • 680g Dark Chocolate (55%)
    • 8 eggs
    • 680g Caster Sugar
    • 340g Plain Flour

    For the icing

    • 453g Dark Chocolate (55%)
    • 318g Avonmore Butter


    1. Pre-heat your oven to 190 C
    2. Slowly melt the chocolate & butter together in a Pyrex bowl over boiling water or in the microwave
    3. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is thick enough to make a figure of eight with a spoon
    4. Fold the chocolate & butter mixture into the egg mixture
    5. Fold in the sieved flour
    6. Pour this mixture into your lined tin
    7. Bake in the oven for 40 to 45 mins until set in the middle
    8. While the brownie is baking, make the icing by melting the chocolate and butter together in the microwave or in a Pyrex bowl over boiling water – leave to cool
    9. When ready, take the brownie out of the oven and leave to cool
    10. Take the cooled brownie out of the tin and carefully spread the icing over the brownie with a pallet knife
    11. In the Granary they drizzle melted white chocolate over the finished brownie and serve with Freshly Whipped Avonmore Cream!
